The Club’s Golf Shop has a fully stocked, up-to-date supply of golfing equipment including:
- Clubs and equipment
- Footwear
- Golf Clothing
- The Harpenden Golf Club crested range accessories
The Shop also maintain a fleet of ride on buggies, electric trollies and push trollies which are all available to hire (pre-booking is advised).
Junior Coaching
The Junior Section at Harpenden Golf Club was set up in 2014/15 and has gone from strength to strength.
Junior group weekend classes and half term coaching weeks have been a great hit. We cater for all ages (between 5-15) and all abilities. These coaching sessions run on weekends throughout the year and during school holidays. Clubs and balls are provided for use free of charge.

Meet the Team
- Peter Lane, Head Professional
Peter Lane has been the Head Professional at Harpenden Golf Club since 2006, in his previous career Peter has played briefly on the European and Challenge tours. Peter became one of the first Advanced PGA Professional in the region his County coaching and time on coaching on the tour along with his consultancy on a Golf instruction book helped his achieve this status. Since joining Harpenden Peter has become a fully qualified PDS (Personal Development Systems) coach, his coaching philosophy “teach the player not the swing”.
In the past Peter was heavily involved in the development of Herts County Golf Teams and was the first to introduce seminars into their training and development schedule. Peter now concentrates his time developing golfers at Harpenden, and upon completing a Sport Psychology course feels he has the tool kit to develop a player to their best potential
- Finlay Mitchell, PGA Professional
PGA Golf Professional with vast experience coaching players of all disciplines. Heavily involved with private coaching of both members and non-members. Finlay uses a SkyTrak Launch Monitor along with Ubersense Video Analysis software to improve the learning experience for his clients. Custom fitting sessions are also available through Finlay with Mizuno, Ping and Callaway. Head junior coach since January 2015 and currently running a very successful Junior Development scheme.
Finlay runs both the Men’s and Ladies Academy at Harpenden Golf Club. This is a great way to get into golf either with a group of friends or individually, with the chance to meet new people and to integrate yourself within the club.
